PSYC 332 Lecture Notes - Lecture 11: Grape, Eusociality, Autism
Document Summary
Reading questions are weighted more toward second half. Half questions from readings and half from lectures. Leader- mcadams- chapter 7 or 8- world expert- personality development. How we learn to tell stories and how that develops. This research is being done- trying to predict adjustment and wellbeing. One thing psychotherapy does according to mcadams- helps us tell a better story than we have. Mcadams talks about this from perspective of reader and how first level is being an actor second is being an agent and third is an author. Corresponding to the 3 roles are specific levels or layers of personality. The self as an actor mcadams would suggest is captured by the big 5 traits and has to do with constituencies in social and emotional behaviours. Is it the most researched- thousands of studies on it- we spent a lot of time on it.
