Individual differences in pain sensitivity: 500 participants. 49 degree celsius of heat pain: but there"s this full range of pain ratings. Individual differences in chronic pain susceptibility: the percentage of people who have the disorder or condition in black that go on to develop chronic pain from that condition. 2: dark colour = those who go on to develop chronic pain, surgery, pain after 1, 2 and sometimes even 5 years. Might not have anything to do with the patient themselves. But there must be something about the patient: thoracotomy is the highest one. It would be better if surgeons were more upfront about his risk, but it is almost never put on consent forms. Individual differences in analgesic response: 3,170 postoperative patients (mostly orthopedic, first thing they are asked when lucid is: how much pain are you in, a lot of variability in responses. Average = 4 injections: range: 2 83mcg/kg of body weight, reasons for interindividual variability.
