91 views16 pages

Document Summary

The textbook does not go into the self enough, it is a very important concept. Self-conception: who am i, the kind of info. that we include in our sense of self and how we organize it in our mind and the processes we use to come up with those ideas about ourselves. - Key example- want to control ourselves from doing something we like to do. For me, i like to drive fast. - which is not good. - doing so, makes it more likely i get into an accident so i chose not to drive fast- that is my choice. How do i get myself to stop driving fast- and regulate and control my behaviour to get it to be the way i want it to be. Think of similar things that apply to you, think of an area where you have to stop or get yourself to do something- like eating unhealthy foods- what makes it possible to control that behaviour.
