- Ideology is a comprehensive set of normative beliefs, conscious and unconscious ideas,
that an individual, group or society has
o Structuring thoughts can be unconscious, pervasive
- Link to concepts such as a political rationality, worldview, imaginary, and ontology
o Way of making sense of the world, way of knowing
- A system of ideas and ideals, especially one that forms the basis of economic or political
theory and policy
o Often politics are injected into ideology
o Could there be an apolitical ideology? Or is ideology inherently political?
- The science of ideas: the study of their origin and nature
