Single peak trade union confederation in the economy. Trade union confederation that has the capacity to adjust and deal with the behaviour of rank and file workers at the factory floor level. Single social democratic/labour party in the system that has enough political power to form a government on their own. Germany specifically the economy and trade union organization (especially in west germany) industrial unions that are highly organized/regulated. Both trade unions had a radical commitment built in their trade union constitution: both supported nationalization of industry, german social democratic party gave up the commitment in. Democracy very specific: britain gave up its commitment to the nationalization of industry in 1995, labour party remakes itself in the 70s, 80s and early, giving this up marks the transition between old labour. 90s and new labour: southern = labour exclusion (france/italy) More powerful in the economy are trade unions. No single peak association of labour several competing trade union confederations.
