How i almost found a cure for cigarette addition. What is nicotine: an oily liquid, has slight smell, heterocyclic, basic, alkaloid, produced by plants in the nightshade family (tomato, potato, 1 cigarette: 1ml of nicotine. Suggests the people smoke to get nicotine: nicotine withdrawal syndrome: lose concentration, sleep disturbed, eat more. If we give rat nicotine chronically and take away nicotine, rat will show withdrawal syndrome: nrt: nicotine replacement therapy (nicotine gum, patch, nasal inhaler) Double chances of quitting: nicotine euphoria: if person given nicotine continuously, person will become very happy, there are drugs that block functioning of nicotinic receptors. If you make human press a lever to work and get nicotine intravenously, they will do so and work hard for it.
