Many of our great literary horror stories are works of the romantic era: Mary shelley"s frankenstein (1818), the works of edgar allan poe (1809-1849), robert louis. Stevenson"s dr. jekyll and mr. hyde (1886), bram stoker"s dracula (1897), etc: romantic artists in all media often emphasized nature as a subject and source of inspiration.
