Features/preoccupations of readings so far: knowing right from wrong -- are you endowed with reason, neighbour principle --> how close/far are you from the other person, not criminal, not contract, not a compensation scheme, principle and subordinate relationship. Fault/ blameworthiness: principle being a person in position of authority. Foreseeability: harm / "pr judice, cost avoidance// deterrence (behaviour modification) as a function, duty of care, acts vs. omissions. Perks/downsides of other model: more ability to make modifications, clear framework, don"t need to argue with children because the rules are clear/ not a lot of discussion, different types of rules with different objectives. List is fixed, so the model is not equipped to adjust to new scenarios: you must interpret rules to fit them to your problem. "income tax act aprroach" - you just keep adding and adding rules - the list gets very long. Saying that certain behaviors are like some of the rules listed -- analogy.
