Document Summary

Something that is being questioned is whether there is a model and if it is appropriate to apply it to different parts of england. Another part of the model is questioning whether there was a so called revolution that took place during a compressed time frame and saw dramatic change. Other historians describe industrialization as a process, it is tied to the idea that there was patchy change, you could see some change - especially the. North of britain where factories developed, change quickly and dramatically but much of britain remained rural. It was not until the 19th century where there was a change to the industrialized economy. The process may have been slower than thought, fast in some areas and slower in the other areas. Doesn"t mean contemporaries didn"t think they were living through an era of significant change. There were new modes of production that were changing people"s lives.
