Gore had an edge in the polls but the electoral college didn"t come out in his favor. In 2000, the gop decided to suppress the vote in order to win because of jeb"s loss a few years earlier. Focused on the felon exclusion law that existed. Florida passed it in 1868 to disenfranchise blacks. Came up with a list of criminals who should be banned from voting. Company said it was a rough draft list because it"s hard to. 10,000-12,000 were wrongfully turned away from the polls on election day. Bush won florida by 537 and won the entire election. Latino vote was strongly gop and cuban, somehow latinos were taken off the list.
