Better known are miniaturists such as sibylla von bondorf. She was actually a nun in germany. She produced a lot of manuscripts in a style that became popular. The renaissance raised the status of art and the artist. There were specific areas where art was more lucrative because people weren"t willing to pay for all kinds of works. It was possible to create small works such as portraits and devotional works.
