Same ppl remember same conflict differently as time passes. Greece 1946-49: the reality of 10 yrs of war, from unity to hatred. Specifically need ppl who were alive @ the time to hav cm. Not only a greek case (spain, lat amer, e eur, rwanda, cambodia) Greek civil war: 4 regimes of memory. Memorial repression and exclusion (by the visitors) 1/3. Silence: a medium of superficial consensus (by both sides) 2. Amnesia and selective memories as a proposal for permanent reconciliation in society thru oblivion 4. Public contestation and disputes over the war as a result of the long term political, cult, social upheaval the civil war and its aftermath produced in post-cw greece 5 (thru 2009) Phase 1: when the war was over: the memory of the victors. Many comms flee greece to comm bloc. Winners don"t acknowledge civ war war against bandits . Those who stayed could b deported or sent to reeducation camps.
