Founded militarist street organizations that sought to change govt in authoritarian. Despisal of liberal democracies--say they only benefit politicians. Jews--blamed as eternal cause of bad things. Authoritarian leaders captivated ppl, were source of inspiration. Alternative image that depicted leader as above ppl, but benevolent. Monuments, new public spaces/symbols of the nation. Telling people how to act, who their enemies are.
