Us prez from 1913-1921 elected because of his domestic platform! (social reform) not foreign policy. Wanted to keep us out of war for as long as possible. 1914-1917: tried to mediate, keep us out of war pushed for peace conference in 1916 (2nd term) peace without victory but by then france + gb were unwilling to negotiate bc too much bitterness with germany.
