Morning in america: fallout: vietnam, watergate, covert actions. Church committees- brought on a push to do something about too big of executive power: movement of movements and reactions. Oscars caused a lot of people to join them, but also many opposed. Crisis of late 1970s: aging industrial economy, globalization, inflation, increasing unemployment. Caused people to feel like they had to reassess the us and where it was going, specifically for a lot of economic reasons. Us had an industrial infrastructure, built on history of manufacturing and mass consumption that was not becoming dependable anymore and started to fall apart: confidence? - lack of confidence. New right and reagan revolution: right forged together to form a new powerful political collective that would form us politics until 21st century. Fight over abortion- made it legal in us. Intersected with feminist and religious agendas and drove a wedge in american politics.
