And that makes us realize that we only have some time to do things and once we do that we start thinking of our past like what people did before(german philosopher) History helps us contextualize our own lives, and be aware of our relative position in the time frame. This helps us contextualize what we are going through today. It is not obvious to take someone out of their frame of reference. Things happening in society, we don"t understand or feel it and studying something far away helps us understand these things(like physics) Debates about what history is, whether it is currently relevant. 1)deals with facts- establishing a certain number of facts. 2)establish facts using a scientific method in analysis of sources.
