Considered very important civilization and many people derived their own civilization from here. It had a system of avenues (avenue of the dead) which connected the 2 most important pyramids. Monumental civilization; it was residential in area, some people had palaces. It is thought to have been established around 100 bc and continues to be built upon until 250 ad. It may have lasted somewhere as long as 7th to 8th centuries. Its height was probably up to 500 ad, still a large powerful civilization. It had the largest population in pre-columbian america. It had terrific influence on the maya centers. Perhaps there were attacks on the city along with burning. This seems to be undermined by archeological finds.
