International conference on population and development: set out a series of actions on population and dvlpment, including sustained economic growth. World summit on social dvlpment: the first time that the international community expressed a clear commitment to eradicate absolute poverty. United nations conference on fish stocks: implementation of the provisions of the un convention on the law of the sea. The agreement includes provisions to ensure compatible conservation and management measures between high-seas areas and coastal zones under national jurisdiction. We have the conferences and conventions to facilitate the money flow. Statements from conferences bring forth cohesiveness upon which the states act. Countries don"t like binding treaties because they do not want to be held accountable for violating the treaty and not meeting the set requirements. Therefore many of them are conventions for which states are signatories and not binding. It looks simple but is logical and useful when it comes to talking with diplomats after conferences (to get funding)
