His international mind influences the study on canadian literature. His students also became interested in mythology. Many of the students become prominent writers and wrote/incorporated myths/mythography in their works. Myth as a way of structuring and ordering the world. Eliot : (cid:498)mythical method(cid:499) (cid:523)in (cid:498)ulysses, order, myth(cid:499)(cid:524) Myth is (cid:498)a way of controlling, of ordering, of giving a shape and a significance to the immense panorama of futility and anarchy which is contemporary history. (cid:499) Frye"s (cid:498)conclusion(cid:499) : finding or not finding a myth of canada. (cid:498)conclusion(cid:499) (of the literary history of canada) Evaluative view = problematic because evaluation is to mark the greats, but there are no greats in canada, therefore there will be no criticism. Readers have a great imagination than the writers. At least they tried to create a cultural community.
