-Areas of rights concerns:

-Nussbaum’s recommendations:
-Religious freedom should not be allowed to trump sex equality
-No delegation of family law to religious courts if it entails gender inequality or religious
discrimination

—> Application of equality norms to religious laws
-Religious actors should be accountable to state laws
-Constraints on religious speech
-Encouragement of liberal elements in religions
