-Garden of earthly delights: an image of Genesis (the creation of Adam and Eve). The
bridegroom is Adam but the bridal relationship is between Christ and Eve.
-The couple breaks the relationship, head off on their own because of their disobedience with
God. The message of Bosch as they break their relationship with Christ and go off is that the
bride is still being taken to the alter. If the marriage bond isn't with Christ it’s going to be with
something more problematic. The marital bond is not an end in itself but a pathway.

-Within christianity there are 3 main parts: Catholicism, Protestantism, Orthodox

We have a purpose and these facts/premises say what we ought to do.
-Faith and reason: John Pail 2, fides et ratio - faith and reason should make sense together.
Informed and right reason should not be in conflict.

-Ex: all humans have same (fundamental universal) human nature
