From observing/exploring/randomization to technique and application using a material in one way and then applying it in other ways (p. 7 in article) Skill progression knowledge progression - teaching subject matter and outcome is knowledge based social skill progression emotional progression - confidence; empathy individual progression. Stage 2: involvement/engagement/activity: experimentation, research and discussion, work activity, using notebook, sketch pads, etc. Stage 4: possible solution: rationalization of work done, presentation through visuals. Stage 5: evaluation: assessment of the success or otherwise of the project - was it successful, assessment of individual contributions, assessment of small group contributions, discussion of possible future developments. Every lesson has some sort of problem - need problem solving skills to create a lesson. Museum visit and lesson plan: art lesson, use professional language, own template for lesson, use the museum collection, space, or architecture as inspiration.
