Variations of the same theme in his paintings. Neighbour in the background watching, the idea of always being watched/theme of surveillance. The architecture itself goes with the theme of surveillance in the way it allows to see into other"s homes with windows etc. Painting is another level of this surveillance by allowing one"s house to be publicly displayed as a painting.
