Kabuki: a popular drama in which all the characters wear heavy makeup (no masks worn ever) Noh: a popular entertainent among the samurai (warrior) class. Noh comprises mainly of the dance of a protagonist called shite accompained by a noh chorus and noh musicians. The story of noh is told through dialogue, utai (singing), hayashi (musical accompaniment) and dance. Considered a musical from the 14th century. Noh singing is very slow and low pitched often people fall asleep during the performance can be very boring.
