Legal pluralism, the theoreical possibility of more than one legal order or mechanism within one socio-poliical space, based on diferent sources of ulimate validity and maintained by forms of organizaion other than the state. Discussion dominated by the exchange of conceptual stereotypes over those using them. Procedures for dealing with problemaic situaions, hat regulate social universe and are limited to speciic social domains like marriage, property transacion. A concept that is broad enough to capture simple and complex legal coniguraions. Interested in explaining diferent legal coniguraions and the interdependence and social signiicance of their element. Not a theory of explanaion but as a staring point for looming at the complexiies of cogniive and normaive order and involvement of human interacions. Issue of bringing diferent objects and resultant concepts of law into a one-dimensional level of discussion. The need for an analyical framework that can encompass a variety of empirical legal phenomena.
