Snub-nosed monkey - se asia, south china. Maxillary bones curved so its nostrils faced upwards. Locals in that region would locate these creatures after a rainfall because they kept sneezing. Promisians (strepsirrhines and tarsiers) vs monkeys - this is quite clear due to morphological and behavioural differences. But the difference between monkeys and apes are not so clear. For one, all apes lack tails; most monkeys have them. Monkey arm length varies considerably as well, but apes generally have very long arms. Apes rely more on vision than do monkeys. Apes have more consistent, regular upright posture than do monkeys. All apes have been observed in the wild using tools; most monkeys have not. The smallest, thus lesser, of the apes. Both gibbons and siamangs are entirely arboreal.
