There are several specialized treatment or methods designed to increase the number of oocytes and/or sperm, thus improving the likelihood of pregnancy. These methods try to maximize the chances of a couple to conceive. these medical procedures are referred to as assisted reproductive. Cancer and fertility preservation : we don"t know if we might have to face cancer. For children/ young adults for instance, if have chemotherapy, should be advised that they can preserve their fertility (freeze your eggs for example). Social aspects : preserving fertility to circumvent the maternal age effect, or same sex. Freeze your eggs when you"re younger, so that when you decide to become couples. pregnant later you have younger eggs. Same sex couples can use art to have offspring. Prevention of inherited genetic disorder by performing pgd. The term is used by the medical community to describe couples who have not. Is when there is reduced ability to conceive and produce offspring.
