For example, the visual system is sensitive to electromagnetic radiation, it uses electromagnetic radiation to extract information about the external world and the somatic sensory information gives you information about what"s happening on your. Then, this information has to be transformed into some kind of form that the skin surface and extracts that information. nervous system can understand. That involves transformation into an electrical signal because the nervous system is an electrical organ, neurons are electrical cells and they process and transform and read information through electric signal.
