We"re gonna be talking about parts of the brain that are responsible in processing sensory information, but these sensory processing systems don"t operate in isolation, they are interconnected with all the other systems that control movements and cognition. The second thing perception also means the fact that our sensory perception of the world is related to experiences. What we mean when we talk about perception in the sensory systems is 2 distinct but very closely related things. The first is that sensory systems enable us to extract information about the world. In that sense, perception is a form of information processing. Perception means taking that information and utilizing it in an intelligent way, in a way.
