Secondary feeling state/emotion = feelings elicited by higher order cognitive state. Decisions based on 2 feeling state to link feelings & complex cognitive processes. Deciding to fly in bad weather/deciding how to invest. Your savings/forgiving a person who has betrayed you. Ex: not drink before exam = not because of all scenarios from decision. But lot knowledge applied to decision & express as feeling state & physiological response. Brain interpret response to knows should not drink. So damage to connection b/w thoughts & feeling = problems in personal life. Because need to interpret feelings via high cognitive process. Somatic markers special instances of feelings generated from 2 secondary emotion. *those emotions & feelings = connected by learning to predicted future outcomes of certain scenarios. When negative (-) somatic marker = juxtaposed to. When positive (+) somatic marker = juxtaposed instead. = becomes a beacon of incentive to particular future outcome.
