Theobroma cacao: cocoa tree, theo = god, theobroma = food of the gods, make preparation based on cocoa as a liquid, offer it in gold goblets that could only be used once. Aztec use cocoa drinks to satisfy the gods. Cocoa is very bitter on its own. Xocoatl is the aztec term for chocolate meaning bitter. Cocoa very valuable: used as currency.
