Omega-3 fat in flax seeds is not as biologically active as omega-3 fats in fish. Eggs are linked with heart disease because egg yolk contains a lot of cholesterol, and high blood levels of cholesterol have been linked to heart disease. Egg marketers add omega-3s to use their positive public perception to balance the negative public perception of egg yolks.
