Copper wire in silver nitrate solution = oxidation reduction redox reaction. Silver metal plates out & get crystals of silver forming on copper *look magical. *silver nitrate = colorless but change color on exposure to light. Ex: old fashion photography = film w/ coating of silver nitrate & become metallic silver [negative film] Dr. schwarcz = went to oratory st-joseph & put silver nitrate in holy water. Dark metallic silver = black deposits on skin.
