March 25th, 2015: triploid can be generated spontaneously or artificially (4n x 2n) Chromosome pairing in an autotetraploid: when they try to produce progeny, there are different pairing possibilities, all three chromosomes can try to come together as a trivalent, or there may be a bivalent and a univalent distributed randomly.
