Document Summary

Adaptations are traits that evolved through natural selection. Evolution by natural selection has adaptation as a consequence. Three students trying to get seeds/nuts out of different kinds of containers with their assigned tools (spoon, nutcracker, forceps, etc. ) These individuals were not well adapted to their environments because they did not have the correct tools to get the nuts out of the container. So, once they switch their tools, they can much better get access to their food. This goes to show that it is important to have the right tools/to adapt to our environment over time in order to survive in this environment. You have a particular environment and it has challenges. Individuals who are well adapted to this environment can better survive and reproduce more than individuals that are less adapted. They arise form the phenotypic and genetic variation that is present.
