Over years, effects of habits can impair the quality of your life. Nutrient recommendations are used as standards for measuring people"s energy and nutrient intakes. The dri focuses on chronic disease prevention: lifelong intake goals for calcium at levels believed to lessen chances of osteoporosis- related fractures later on. Most abundant mineral within the body: 99% is stored within bones and teeth. Important part of bone structure: bone is a calcium reserve, releasing calcium from the blood, minerals of the bone are forming and dissolving. Osteoporosis: 20% die, and >25 million are affected by it, no symptoms until it is too late, bones are fragile. Nutrient requirements for given life stages and gender groups.
