How is the person"s memory: we usually make some gross or rough estimate of intelligence that is noticeable only if it deviates from normal (e. g. , above or below average, sensorium. Takes the mse one step further by using direct observation to assess formally an individual"s thoughts, feelings and behaviours in specific situations and contexts (esp useful for young patients or those lacking skills)
