Collection of data to help inform needs of ontario"s health care system, promote optimal health, and improve patient care. Cno responds to the public when concerns are addressed (eg. nurse giving wrong meds or failing to conduct a complete health assessment) Cno protects the public and help nurses improve their practice. Nurses need to know what constitutes patient abuse (eg. verbal, physical, emotional, financial, neglect) and address these concerns. To practice as nurse: must be a member of cno and must complete the national nursing exam (n-clex) Keep knowledge and skills up to date. Respect values, opinions, needs and cultural beliefs of patients. Give feedback to other nurses and accept criticism.
