A single crop is more vulnerable to disaster than a mixed field. Communities are sharing awareness, which leads to education, education increases resilience which leads to transition. Natural resource and social systems are complex, unpredictable and highly dynamic. Different groups and people have different values and view points. Yet we continue to search for standard solutions. Need to test them - often ten years later, realise it was a waste of money. What to focus on when dealing with wicked problems: Effective leadership = a question of building a bridge, enabling others to work together. Leader enables people to achieve a group"s vision.
