Lipitor is the most widely sold drug, 1. 3 billion dollars made in just one year. 48 billion dollars made from the top 10 drugs in the usa, europe and japan. Geneva is the base for pharmaceutical companies (who and wipo and the wto) Wto - covers many areas of international trade (goods, services) it has 150 member states, its governed by world trade agreements. Patent medicines are much more expensive than those that are not. Ifpma has its base in geneva, 26 member companies and 55 associations in 55 countries. Works on regulated issues because everything pharmaceutical is regulated. There are 5 infectious diseases that kill the majority of people per year - pulmonary, aids, diarrhea, malaria;15 million deaths per year, 85% of people affected are from poor places but only 11% of funds is focused there.
