Document Summary

Some type of psychological analysis on an individual. Identify key events / turning points in the person"s life. Cases 1 4 (skinner; malcolm x; gay identity; roald dahl) A critical analysis of current trait theory (pervin, 1994) Trait theorists: apparent consensus on structure of personality (see digman quote) Pervin suggests the big 5 is not the be all and end all and no one can explain personality in its fullness on this model. Believes there has to be more to personality and personality than these 5 traits. Evidence: genetic: compelling, but environment important, too. Says he has been persuaded to believe there is a genetic component to traits but even so, he feels you shouldn"t swing the pendulum so far to one side to say that heredity is the answer.
