Political culture: attitudes, beliefs, values related to politics: guide and shape what is right and wrong, give us sense of belonging and identity: what we have in common. Canada"s political culture: not many extremes:* moderation, diversity, inclusion, we often compare ourselves to us: emphasize our differences, how canada is viewed on the world stage: How is political culture measured: diversity and inclusion can be measured: survey, opinion pieces, hard to have absolute causality: look for patterns. How political culture is formed: 2 major theories in canada: founding fragments theory. Communities who immigrate bring fragments of their cultural along. Congealment: moment where fragment hardness forever, once occurred everyone will follow. But does not account for change in culture: formative events. Events happened that are fundamentally important cement a culture. Us and canada has different paths to independence. Canada is moving gradually to create more independence: currency.
