Used to establish peace by separating conflicting groups: after post-cold war walls were used to stop illegal immigration, walls, like in israel, can also be used to establish power of a nation between itself and other countries. Sovereignty: rivalry has existed since the beginning of the 20th c, last major territorial disputes solved in the 30s, dispute about the nwp started in the 60s.
