Like ranked individuals tend to help one another more. Interindividual tolerance: see more cooperation when individuals are more tolerant of one another, more tolerant individuals had been in their history, the more likely they were to cooperate. Kin as well as being close in rank results in more cooperation. Also less likely to cooperate with and choose someone has a partner if they cheat: get fewer later cooperative interactions after an initial cooperative interaction leads to unequal reward, punishing defection. Seed the population with a tradition: birds learn through cooperation and reward how to do a task. Used to reduce the temptation to cheat: punishment.
