Need plants because they undergo photosynthesis: the process by which plants and certain bacteria used the solar energy to make carbon dioxide and water into sugars that store chemical energy and oxygen. Animals are not able to make their own food and so they must consume plant (directly and indirectly (they can"t photosynthesize) Predicted that climate change is going to afect the crops negaively because of too much carbon dioxide. Grains are easy to store under dry condiions. Six crops provide most of the human caloric intake: wheat, rice, corn, potatoes, manioc/cassava and sweet potatoes. Eight crops provide the rest: bananas, beans, soy-beans, sorghum, barley, coconuts, sugar cane and sugar beets. Beer and wine are made from sugar-rich plant material. Cofee and tea are derived from beans and leaves of the cofee and tea plant. Come from the berries, stem, lower bud or bark. Can alleviate the symptoms of a variety of medical condiions.
