Social justice model: combines revolt and gradual emergence models. Why is the account of the exodus from egypt highly implausible?describe the plausible reconstruction proposed: the biblical account is highly implausible, especially if read as modern step by step account of what actually happened. It uses highly mythological language: even the numbers seem to highly symbolic. Its focus is on the meaning of the events: not on what actually happened, the archaeological record contradicts it. Jericho was never inhabited in lba or early iron age: no evidence of mass destruction as described in joshua. It is clear from the exodus traditions that the moses group saw yhwh as being instrumental in their escape from egypt.
