Temperament and pers goes hand in hand in research. The big 5 - lot of research done to get to these 5 traits. When study pers, should work w these 5 traits. They map on temperament that we assign in infants and young children. Difficult child can be the opposite of easy kid and slow to warm up is in the middle. No child can exactly fit into one of these categories. When start theory, start w something basic - these 3 categories. Never get to the endpoint - goal of research is to improve. Capture better what see to infant temp but also map on better to pers a little more.
