Fundamentals of learning: classical conditioning: fundamentals esearch on classical conditioning began with the work of pavlov, who studied how dogs learned to anticipate food administration. There are classical conditioning procedures that establish an association between two stimuli. Classical conditioning is the simplest mechanism by which organisms can learn about stimulus relationships and change their behavior accordingly. It allows humans and other animals to take advantage of the ordered sequence of events in their environment and learn what stimuli tend to go with which events. Based on this learning, organisms give new responses to stimuli. With classical conditioning, we learn to predict when and what we can eat. He is also involved in learning new emotional responses such as fear and pleasure from stimuli that did not initially elicit those emotions. The first works begin with pavlov - russian physiologist- In his phd thesis twitmyer (1974) presented at the university of pennsylvania in 1902.
