Britain, spain and the dutch empire were all under this system. The thirty years war, bloodiest war and during this time sovereignty became important and non-intervention. British start moving towards free trade instead of mercantilist. This let countries become more concentrated on certain trades instead of being good at everything. Britain was a sea power therefore they could block trade routes and they can govern far away therefore their power was being projected in other place. Able to protect its own trading routes and being dominant in trading routes. At the flip side this signalled the power of the great colonial powers.
