Nobles or peers, they are someone who receives an invitation/patent to sit in the house of lords, which goes to dukes, barons, earls, etc They would have approximately 60 men and households in the house of lords. Gentry were represented in the house of commons; they make their living out of the holding of land. Gentry are those who have received the title of knight" by the king. 3000 men and households in the house of commons; they have close connections to burgher/merchant elite. Example: richard duke of york marries cecily duchess of york and they have edward, However, none of these children are nobles until richard dies. When he dies, his eldest becomes duke of york and his siblings become gentry.
